About

Why this blog exists

Islam Without Borders is written by a Westerner who came to Islam late, slowly, and with a lot of questions. It is not a da'wah organization, not a fatwa site, and not a substitute for a teacher or a community. It is one person's field notes.

If you grew up secular, agnostic, or in another tradition and find yourself curious about Islam — but put off by both the hostile headlines and the overly polished pamphlets — this space is for you. Here we take the questions seriously: about God, prayer, the Quran, history, and the honest difficulties too.

Nothing here asks you to believe anything. The only invitation is to look carefully.
